About this book…

This second volume in the Origins and Lives series completes the study of Virginia’s Crafton family. It describes the lives of over 500 individuals descended from a Crafton man who lived in Virginia in the first half of the 18th Century. This man’s name has been lost, and so the Origins and Lives project has dubbed him Y. He was a grandson of Thomas Crafton, who arrived in Virginia in 1672 and who became the progenitor of Virginia’s Craftons. Y was also a brother of James Crafton, the man whose descendants were the subject of volume one. In addition to the biographies and family histories contained in its text, volume two includes appendixes with mathematical and historical analyses that support the book’s content and organization. Like its predecessor, this volume is heavily annotated and contains a name index. A set of addenda to volume one has been included as well.
